Diana passed away in 2004 after a long and very brave battle against cancer.  She had a wonderful teaching career and was very involved in music throughout her life.  She sang professionally with the Festival Singers of Canada under Elmer Iseler ( our music guru at Northview during it's opening years). Diana passed on her talent and love of music to her daughter, Gillian, who sings and plays oboe professionally in Toronto.  Diana is greatly missed by her husband Ted, her family, her many friends and her students.  We will all be thinking of her at the reunion.

(unconfirmed … no name on submission)

Marlene Berney Mckinnon

1957-1961

Marlene Berney was a excellent student, completing 5 years of high school in 4 years through an enrichment program at Northview. She was a dedicated school teacher at the elementary and junior high levels up until her retirement. Shortly after leaving teaching with many plans to continue enriching her life and those of her family, friends and community, she died suddenly following surgery. Marlene was strong and determined, bright and knowledgable and so kind, generous and compassionate. She was my best friend from grade 4 on and along  with her loving family, I cherish her memory and am grateful for her presence in my life.
