Diana Clark Howard |
2004 |
1957-1963 |
Diana passed away in 2004
after a long and very brave battle against cancer. She had a wonderful
teaching career and was very involved in music throughout her life. She
sang professionally with the Festival Singers of Canada under Elmer Iseler (
our music guru at Northview during it's opening years). Diana passed on her
talent and love of music to her daughter, Gillian, who sings and plays oboe
professionally in Toronto. Diana is greatly missed by her husband Ted,
her family, her many friends and her students. We will all be thinking
of her at the reunion. |

Ricardo Dermer |
1990? |
|
I don't even remember
whether he even attended Northview but he was the devoted brother of a
student in our Year: Alicia Dermer. This message is for her: Alicia, hace
muchos anos, lei en el periodico judio que Ricardo se murio, y estaba muy
triste. En los anos adultos, aprendi que la vida es muy fragil y que la muerte
nos espera siempre. Me recudo como protegiste y cuidaste siempre a tu
hermano. Se murio demasiado joven. Siempre pienso en el. (unconfirmed

Mr. Isler was an inspiring and talented choral music and orchestra
teacher. As a choir member, I enjoyed participating in amazing choral

helped me in my music teaching throughout my teaching career. Thanks Elmer. |

Marlene
Berney Mckinnon |
1998 |
1957-1961 |
Marlene Berney was a excellent student, completing 5 years of high
school in 4 years through an enrichment program at Northview. She was a
dedicated school teacher at the elementary and junior high levels up until
her retirement. Shortly after leaving teaching with many plans to continue
enriching her life and those of her family, friends and community, she died
suddenly following surgery. Marlene was strong and determined, bright and
knowledgable and so kind, generous and compassionate. She was my best friend
from grade 4 on and along with her
loving family, I cherish her memory and am grateful for her presence in my
life. |
